About Safe Tread Alliance

Safe Tread Alliance is a national coalition dedicated to modernizing tire safety standards to protect families and prevent tragedies on America’s roads. Founded after the loss of a young individual due to unsafe tires, the Alliance advocates for a 4/32-inch minimum tread depth standard nationwide to improve wet-weather traction and reduce stopping distances. The organization promotes mandatory annual tire inspections and educates drivers on proper tire maintenance through partnerships with manufacturers, retailers, safety experts, and policymakers.

Our Story

Safe Tread Alliance was founded after the tragic and preventable loss of Jackson Bebiak, age 19, who was killed in a crash caused by excessively worn tires. His story drives our mission for change.

Why Safe Tread Alliance Exists

We unite families, industry leaders, and safety experts to address one of the most overlooked threats on America’s roads: unsafe tires.
